I encountered some problems while using the CAESARⅡ software, and I would be very grateful if everyone could offer some advice! I can’t understand this database of piping materials at all. If it’s 20 steel, which option should I choose? Also, the default unit for pipe dimensions is feet, but we usually use millimeters – do I need to convert them before entering the values? It’s too troublesome. I’m a beginner; please forgive any mistakes I might make :loveliness:
1. Just choose carbon steel; you can specify the allowable stress for the material. 2. The units can be modified in the config settings, allowing the use of international units going forward.

Define unit: Change the main menu option tools/ configuration setup/ database definitions/ units file name to mm.fil:lol
For commonly used materials in steam such as 20, 20G, 12CO1MOV, etc., it is better to define a database of your own. One reason is that terms like CAESAR low-carbon steel are too general, and there are slight differences compared to some domestic variants. Second, it’s much more convenient after defining it yourself. No more input of stress and so on.

If it’s defined within the database itself, does that mean that values such as stress also need to be entered manually? That way, they can be called directly later on.:o
It can be used once defined in the material library, but a lot of data is required, and some of it is hard to find.
It can be set in \"make units files\" under \"tools\"; selecting MM.FIL uses the internationally standard units.
