:):time: Converter leakage is a tricky problem; even if the leak is detected promptly, it can still cause severe corrosion of the converter’s tubes and partition plates, and the resulting corroded areas are very difficult to weld. If the tubes expand, it is possible to replace them.
:):time: Continuing from the previous post, when welding pipes with leaks, the following points should be taken into account: (1) Adhere to the principle of fixing one leak with six repairs; (2) Prepare sufficient plugs (for DN50 converter steel pipes, round bars with a diameter of 60–70 can be used to create male and female ends); (3) Ensure that all water from the shell side of the converter is completely drained; (4) Use a magnifying glass to check for any pinholes in the welds; (5) After passing the pressure test, apply a high-temperature resistant resin coating for anti-corrosion protection.
