The temperature in the first section of our converter has dropped to 207°C, and the temperature in the catalyst layer is only 320°C. For other reasons, it is now necessary to introduce dry, cold SO2 gas – I’m not sure if this will have an impact on the catalyst (I’ll definitely need to reheat the engine next time I drive; factors that cause a drop in temperature are not taken into account.)
Is it for parking to achieve cooling? Cooling is achieved using dry, cold SO2 gas; inevitably, SO2 remains inside the catalyst. How should the exhaust gases be dealt with?

It’s not to stop the operation for cooling purposes; repairs are required, and the system needs to be shut down for 5 days before it can be restarted. Therefore, we want to run the boiling furnace for 2–3 hours in order to maintain its temperature. Conversion can only take place once the temperature is raised again, so during the time the boiling furnace is running, dry SO2 is fed into the converter! We have a tail-suction unit equipped with facilities for producing by-products such as ammonium hydrosulfite, liquid SO2, and pyrosulfite. At present, the gas flow rate in the system is only 1/3 of that during normal operation, so the processing task is not very difficult!
It has a certain impact on the catalyst; the introduction of dry, cold SO2 gas causes V2O5 to be reduced, and excessive reduction affects the performance of the catalyst.
