**Furan (THF), molecular formula C4H8O. **Functions of furan: a. Adjusting the ratio of styrene to butadiene in the molecular chain during the random segment reaction ensures consistency with the design. The amount of activator used should be moderate; an increased dosage alters the microstructure of butadiene polymerization, leading to an increase in 1,2 addition. This, in turn, reduces the elongation and impact strength of the product.
