Perhaps I’ve spent too much time working with equipment; I’ve reached the level of a senior engineer. I’ve worked as a fitter, as a technician, and as a supervisor. I’ve seen many things – compressors, pumps, containers, high-pressure and low-pressure systems – and I’ve also met so-called experts and professors, but they’re not that great after all. Everyone has their own strengths. It’s still best to work in the actual production environment. Sometimes I’m too lazy to interact with others. The only pleasure I get is from solving problems quickly; moreover, I feel that there are no truly insurmountable problems – as long as you put in effort, it’s quite rewarding! It’s not easy to achieve this either; those who work with equipment know that nothing is impossible, and they need two or three decades of practical experience!
I have been working with equipment for only 4 years; my knowledge is mainly theoretical. The equipment used on site is imported from abroad and doesn’t tend to break down easily. I feel like I really want to learn everything, but I’m not proficient in anything specific. I think one should study the blueprints more – I believe that any issue should be addressed by first examining the blueprints.

It’s not easy these days to work with equipment. In any case, good things have nothing to do with you at all; if there are any accidents or emergencies, the responsibility is always shifted onto the equipment. Sigh, it’s tough… just try to get by somehow.

The more experienced those who work with equipment are, the more valuable they become. Equipment is essentially a matter of accumulation; after ten or twenty years, it becomes truly outstanding, provided that one puts in effort into it. If you know the situation and the equipment is in good condition, then that’s what you should do. Whenever problems arise, they’re always blamed on us, the equipment managers in the workshop. Previously, the manager of our workshop was in charge of the equipment; whenever there were problems, he would always ask me to submit reports to the Equipment Department: ***The equipment is vibrating excessively, ***the equipment is leaking, and it needs to be shut down. . . . . Later, when he was promoted to become the head of the equipment department, people started issuing corrective orders: the vibration of *** equipment needed to be properly addressed, and leaks in *** equipment had to be fixed. . .
