Would it be sufficient to drill a hole with an outer diameter of 800 in the DN1600 cylinder for reinforcement? The design pressure of the cylinder is -0.1
It is made of stainless steel and is used for washing.
No problem, it can be met; the equal-area reinforcement method should be used.
The pressure area method is not applicable to externally pressurized vessels
So, does that mean that the reinforcement area required when subjected to an external pressure of 5 kilograms is half of the reinforcement area needed when subjected to an internal pressure of 5 kilograms? :(
Holes can be made, and stress analysis can be used for calculations; conventional calculations can follow the former Soviet standard 24755-89.
