This is a unit commonly used in engineering: 1 bar is approximately equal to 1 atmosphere. The “g” at the end indicates gauge pressure, which is also a unit frequently used in engineering; bar is generally pronounced as “kilogram””

Actually, the simplest conversion is 1 bar = 0.1 Mpa; bar is part of the metric system
