Currently, our province ranks 5th in the country in terms of total energy consumption. Of the proven reserves, 67% of the oil resources have been extracted, 53% of the natural gas resources have been used up, and coal will only last for another 20 years of extraction. At the same time, our province ranks 6th in the country in terms of total chemical oxygen demand emissions, 3rd in sulfur dioxide emissions, and 50% of its river sections have water quality classified as category 4 or worse. If we do not accelerate the transformation of the economic development model through energy conservation and emission reduction, the resources in our province will be unable to sustain it.
