If signal transmission over long distances is required, digital signals or products with HART protocol should be considered; however, the signal quality suffers when the transmission distance exceeds 50 meters. For installation, connections are made via flanges; both magnetostrictive level gauges and submersible level gauges are of the top-mounted type, and they are installed in the light-transmitting holes or other openings on the tank top ; Flange level gauges and differential pressure transmitters can both be installed on the side.
Glass is fine; there’s no need for such complexity. For other materials, corrosion prevention has to be taken into account, which is quite troublesome.
