The gasket at the manhole at the top of the saturated hot water tower leaked, requiring a shutdown to relieve pressure; from the shutdown until production could be resumed at full capacity after pressurization, a total of three hours were lost, resulting in economic losses of several tens of thousands of yuan. This red cardboard was replaced during the mid-August maintenance; it costs 80 yuan per kilogram. The manufacturer has also passed ISO certification, but for some reason the quality is so poor. May I ask which manufacturer’s red cardboard you use?
We have also encountered situations where the asbestos pads broke, causing the vehicle to stop. After suffering a few losses, we now use metal wound gaskets instead of asbestos sheet gaskets. The initial investment may seem large, but there have been no more accidents resulting from gasket problems that caused shutdowns. Moreover, metal wound gaskets can be reused. Think about it: the waste caused by stopping the vehicle once could be used to buy how many metal pads. So, change to another one.
When the new units in our factory were put into operation, all gaskets used were asbestos ones; the management was reluctant to replace them. As a result, the plants had to be shut down several times, resulting in huge losses. In the end, metal wound gaskets were installed everywhere – safe and stable production is the greatest source of benefits!
You lost the big picture because of focusing on the small details! Haha:lol
I have learned it and understood it thoroughly. . .
Sometimes it is like that. Prejudices get in the way; in fact, it’s also a sign of poor learning ability.
For the manhole gaskets in critical areas, we use metal-wrapped ones; asbestos boards are no longer used, with asbestos boards only being employed for water lines.
Asbestos boards are harmful to the human body; avoid using them unless it is absolutely necessary!
Thanks for sharing, coming in to learn a bit!
