Our company is carrying out a project to convert a 150T oil furnace into a water-coal slurry furnace. We would like to ask experts in this field: What aspects should be taken into consideration when designing the long-distance pipelines for water-coal slurry and the piping systems for supplying slurry to the furnace? What are the common problems in the operation of coal-water slurry boiler systems (including the slurry supply system), and what should be taken into consideration during their design and installation?

Pipe diameter and distance affect slurry pressure losses and increase the load on the equipment. It is important to choose an appropriate pipe diameter and to arrange the pipes in a logical manner. Of course, cleaning needs that may arise in the future should not be overlooked. If you are in the northern region, there is a risk that the pipes might freeze.
