Fully enclosed separation and utilization of cold coking wastewater

The integrated technology for the closed separation of cold coking wastewater, developed jointly by East China University of Science and Technology and Zhenhai Refining & Chemical Co., Ltd., has recently won the **Second Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress, bringing significant economic and social benefits. This achievement consists of a full-circulation closed separation and utilization process for cooled coking water, as well as micro-sized cyclone cores with adjustable flow field structures and large-scale cyclones. It includes more than a dozen patented technologies such as a fully enclosed, low-energy cyclone coking removal technique, a high-precision sub-micron oil droplet removal technique utilizing multi-field synergy in cyclones, a rapid cyclone oil dehydration technique, and a coupled treatment technology for wastewater and waste gas. This achievement has been applied in 31 sets of equipment across the country, replacing the open-direct discharge process that has been in use for decades, and completely solving the persistent environmental pollution problem caused by the processing of high-sulfur heavy oil in coking units.
