I’ve been thinking about organizing training materials on using process simulation techniques for chemical engineering design and optimization, and I’d like to understand everyone’s level of expertise as well as the industries they work in; I might also need your help with this. I’m a beginner, just starting out in programming; my field is the pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
Intermediate to low level: Static simulation is no problem. Dynamic simulation – I’m still learning how to use it; I don’t know where to start or what its purpose is I know almost nothing about the control part in simulations, especially regarding parameter settings and related custom development – my knowledge on this subject is extremely limited
What level of simulation is it at? I’m a beginner; I know some things, but it’s difficult to go deeper. I’m okay with familiar units.
Simulated atmospheric and vacuum distillation, catalysis, coking, hydrogenation, acetonitrile extraction, and gas separation. But I always feel that the fundamental theory is insufficient, and the level cannot be elevated.
I have been doing simulations for almost 3 years now; static simulations are okay.
I have been studying *simulation for a few years now, but I have just started working on actual engineering projects, and I’m not sure about the results; I hope to get more learning materials on this topic
The level of simulation capability lies in the understanding of thermodynamic methods, the understanding of software functions, and the understanding of unit operation processes; it is a comprehensive skill. To improve one’s skills, one has to learn *a lot of things!
I have only been working on simulations for half a year, and there are still many things I don’t understand. However, the company is pressing me to move forward quickly. I hope that those who are more experienced can offer some guidance. I’m currently trying to create user-defined models in Aspen, but I can’t figure it out even after reading the manual. By conducting dynamic simulation directly without going through the steady-state simulation process, I feel that there are differences in the focus between steady-state and dynamic approaches. At the current level, it should still be at the stage of being able to use software; there is no talk yet of progressing to the levels of process research and model development.
