During the pump selection process: 1. How is the pump outlet pressure determined? Is there a formula for that? 2. Also, does the shut-off valve after the pump serve to control flow or to increase pressure?

Do you mean the design pressure of the pump? If so, it should be determined during the design phase. If it refers to the outlet pressure of a certain pump in the process, then it should be determined based on the conditions of your process system; once determined, the appropriate pump can be selected accordingly
What I mean is, there was originally a pipe with a pressure of only 0.25 kilograms and a flow rate of 15 m3/h. The flow rate and pressure seemed a bit low, so I wanted to increase the flow rate to 35 m3/h. I decided to use a pipeline pump; but what should be the outlet pressure for this pipeline pump? Is there a formula?
Choose the pump based on the flow rate you need; once the pump is selected, its outlet pressure will be determined. The outlet pressure of the pump must not exceed the pressure rating of the pipeline
Hehe! I’ve made my choice after spending a week on it. It was my first time choosing a pump, so I think it should be easier going forward – at least it won’t be as troublesome. The pump outlet pressure is determined by the process; generally, the pump’s head, flow rate, medium, NPSH, etc. are specified in the design
The flow rate V should be kept at 3 M/SEC; Q = V*S, where the cross-sectional area S of the pipe is determined by the pipe diameter. The pressure is determined by the resistance in the outlet pipe, and the pressure and flow rate can be adjusted using valves.
