I’ve been conducting some small tests recently; due to various factors, some of the data used came from test results provided by the manufacturer, and as a result I was unable to obtain any outcomes on several occasions. I would like to remind my colleagues here that even some large companies do not provide very accurate data, including information on the degree of decomposition in acids or the degree of solubility in substances such as DMF. I hope that everyone will verify such data during pilot tests; I am merely reminding those who tend to be careless, as experts probably don’t need this reminder.
What the original poster mentioned is a problem worth paying attention to. There are many factors behind the inaccurate data provided by manufacturers, with too many random elements involved. Some pilot tests were successful, but when scaling up to production, fatal problems still arise, as issues that were not exposed during pilot or lab tests come to light only in industrial production. I’ve seen an incident that occurred to someone else; at its core, it was stress corrosion of austenitic stainless steel that caused cracks in the stainless steel furnace tubes and pipelines. There were no signs of such problems during the pilot testing phase, and the materials were selected in accordance with standard requirements during the design stage. Yet problems arose as soon as operations started, which prevented the reaction system from functioning and led to the destruction of the installation. So be careful. -
Hehe, what the people above said makes sense. I worked on a project in which media was used for hanging-piece tests, and no corrosion was observed; however, after the system was put into operation, corrosion occurred quite severely.
