Problems with the cooling water for the circulation machine motor

For the motor of the SV16-M circulator in our company’s low-pressure methanol system, the motor manufacturer supplied by Shenyang Gear Pump requires soft water to be used as cooling water. However, our company does not have the capacity to supply 60 cubic meters per hour of soft water; is it possible to use recycled water as a cooling medium instead? We would like to ask the motor manufacturer or experienced colleagues whether it is feasible to use recycled water as a cooling fluid.
I think it’s okay. The requirement for soft water seems to be due to the concern of scaling.
