This year has seen the longest period of snowfall on record, with central provinces such as Anhui suffering severe losses. At present, the pressures on sulfuric acid production enterprises mainly come from the following aspects: 1. Disruptions to the supply of raw materials; in particular, sulfur iron ore processing plants that rely on road transport are at risk of shutting down ; (Issues related to production) 2. It affects the shipment of finished acid, leading to increased inventory pressure. In our plant, since the acid storage facility has a designed capacity to store over 40,000 tons of acid, we are not yet at a point where we have to halt operations due to full storage.
The snowfall has indeed affected the transportation of sulfuric acid. Our company is located in northern Zhejiang, where the amount of snow is not heavy. By keeping our inventory levels low, we have managed to avoid any disruptions; although prices have risen a bit so far, it has not impacted production.
The situation in southern Yunnan is okay; it’s just that the temperature has dropped sharply, with no snowfall. Basically, the acid storage facilities aren’t needed, and the sulfuric acid produced has already been reserved and taken away right away. . . . This year’s sulfuric acid market is worth watching:handshake
Our company’s total inventory amounts to about 120,000 tons, which is distributed across three areas. Due to frozen pipes, it is not possible to transfer goods between these areas, and one of them is already full. Due to the snow, the Railway Ministry only carried out maintenance on trains belonging to its own railway districts, which prevented sulfuric acid tank cars from being put into use on the roads. It's hard!
The situation in Hebei also has an impact; since December, our company’s sulfuric acid production facility has been operating at reduced capacity
