Catalytic synthesis of ethylene carbonate using ionic liquids: The project on catalytic synthesis of ethylene carbonate using ionic liquids, undertaken by the Lanzhou Institute of Chemical Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, has recently passed the scientific and technological evaluation in Gansu Province. This project addresses key technical issues such as low yields in the synthesis of ethylene carbonate, low utilization rates of raw materials, and the recycling of ionic liquid catalysts, providing technical support for the effective utilization of carbon dioxide waste gas and the development of downstream products derived from ethylene carbonate. The LZC-type composite ionic liquid catalyst developed for this project exhibits high catalytic activity and good selectivity; with an ionic liquid catalyst concentration of less than 0.6%, the yield of ethylene carbonate can reach as high as 98%. The catalytic recycling process developed in this research effectively enables the reuse of catalysts, reducing material and energy consumption. The ethylene carbonate products manufactured using this technology meet **the quality requirements, and the refined products can satisfy the needs of high-end products in the electronics industry.

Currently, triethylamine and bromoethane are used as catalysts in the synthesis of vinyl carbonate, and the yield of this process is relatively high; the vinyl ester content in the crude product obtained through high-pressure continuous synthesis can reach 98%. The catalysts cannot be reused, but they are not very expensive and are used in small quantities. :handshake
