I would like to ask the more experienced colleagues: the coke oven I work in is a 4.3-meter cubic solid-foundation regenerative coke oven, and when using blast furnace gas for heating, the temperature at the oven tip remains low; it’s impossible to increase this temperature. I would appreciate some guidance from the more experienced colleagues.
Reasons for the low temperature in the side flues of the coke oven: 1. There is significant heat loss in the flues at the oven head, and this loss increases as the coking time prolongs. This results in an imbalance between the heat supply and demand in those flues, leading to a decrease in the temperature of the side flues; 2. The effect of the thermal buoyancy difference between a pair of burners 3. The effect of the tightness of the regenerator walls ; Furthermore, when using blast furnace gas for heating, the tightness of the socket joint in the small flue also has a certain impact on the temperature of the burner channel. Specific solutions: 1. Additional heating, as both Baosteel and Xuansteel have systems for additional heating; 2. Intermittent heating; 3. Improvement in the design of coke ovens: adjusting the arrangement of the regulating bricks at the inclined entrances of the burners at the furnace head ; Determine a reasonable ramp resistance ; Improving the structure of the regenerator enclosure wall ; Strengthen production management and improve the pressure at the monitoring holes, etc

And as for the so-called supplementary heating, is it not the case that, on top of normal heating, a separate gas pipeline is designed to provide additional heating? Wouldn’t an excess amount of gas then have an impact on the temperature? !
It’s not about sealing. The regenerator should always be kept under negative pressure. Flaming from the small flue may be due to an oversized orifice plate and inadequate suction. Another possible cause of this is excessive resistance in the regenerator.
