To reduce the purity of chlorine, it is necessary to determine whether there is a high level of oxygen or hydrogen in the chlorine, and adjustments must be made based on the specific manufacturing process. 1. If the hydrogen content in chlorine is high, it is mainly caused by pinhole defects in the membrane, which means the membrane needs to be replaced. 2. If the oxygen content in chlorine is high, it is mainly due to an increase in anodic side reactions. For the acid addition process, the amount of acid added can be increased appropriately, and the quality of the brine should be checked ; For the acid-free process, the decrease in membrane reverse osmotic performance is mainly due to the quality of the brine. Under optimal operating conditions, the service life of the ion exchange membranes produced by Asahi Kasei in Japan is generally 3 to 4 years. Since the person in question said that the membranes have been in use for 3 years, this means their lifespan is approaching its end. It is recommended to conduct an evaluation of the system’s performance in order to determine the appropriate time for replacing the membranes (the lead time for ordering ion exchange membranes from Japanese suppliers is quite long!) )

It is recommended to conduct a comprehensive check on the chlorine purity of the cell units and to monitor changes in cell voltage. Check for membrane leakage; if the ion membrane is intact. It may be caused by a decline in performance as the membrane reaches the end of its lifespan.
