Our factory’s sulfuric acid centrifugal fans are equipped with high-pressure motors produced in Shenyang. However, recently the vibration of these motors has increased. Even after being repaired by qualified motor maintenance companies, the problem persists; the vibrations in both the front and rear axes remain significant. We would appreciate any advice from those who have expertise in this area.

Does the electric fan vibrate when running idle? If there is no vibration during idling, then what about the concentricity of the fan’s second shaft? Under normal circumstances, there should be no load issues, unless there have been recent changes to the process and equipment
I wonder if it is a wound-rotor motor or a squirrel-cage motor? Should speed be adjusted? What is the vibration level? Check the no-load vibration level of the motor. If the vibration level is below 2.8 mm/s, it indicates a problem with the motor’s installation; check whether the concentricity between the motor shaft and the blower meets the requirements, as well as whether the foundation bolts are loose. If the vibration value is above 2.8 mm/s, it indicates a problem with the motor itself. Possible reasons include excessive bearing clearance in the motor, uneven air gap in the motor, and installation accuracy that does not meet the requirements.

The situations mentioned by the original poster are ones we’ve also encountered over the years. We upgraded the high-pressure fans of a well-known domestic company, reducing the motor’s energy consumption from 1020 Kwh to 600 Kwh!
