Yesterday, our dean held an end-of-year summary, and the issue of professional qualities among designers prompted my reflection. So, considering aspects such as company development and personal growth, what are the important and fundamental qualities that a designer should possess? Please conduct the discussion based on your own actual circumstances.
As a qualified designer, I believe it is essential to be responsible, dedicated, and hardworking. Another important trait is having a team spirit, as coordination and cooperation among different specialties in design work are crucial.
I agree with what was said on the 2nd and 3rd floors: one must take responsibility for the project, which means being responsible to the owners and to the organization; in the end, it’s about being responsible for oneself. 3
In fact, attitude determines everything. As a designer, one is never working alone but rather as part of a team. Without a positive attitude, such a person becomes a weak link in the entire project team, hindering the progress of the project. Project managers generally dislike such people very much. /Furthermore, in terms of personal development, without a positive attitude, it is difficult to acquire sufficient experience; for designers, accumulating experience is also essential.
It seems that no one mentioned sensitivity to and preference for new technologies; for designers, nothing is more important than technology.
An important aspect is having a team spirit, as well as sensitivity to and the ability to identify new technologies.
Ability to learn from experience, pragmatic, diligent, and patient
Instrumentation, mechanical and electrical engineering, chemical industry, practical production experience, broad knowledge base
As a technician, the most important thing is to have solid technical skills, a scientific attitude, and to fulfill one’s duties with seriousness and responsibility. Of course, a spirit of teamwork is essential; without the ability to work smoothly with others, there is no chance to utilize one’s professional skills.
