Cast iron rings (H223) are commonly used in the fourth and fifth stages. The service life is two years. Of course, it is related to the wear of the cylinder. There are also PTFE-filled ones, which have been used for six years (6M compressor). The six-stage 223 ring is better to be made of powder metallurgy. The cycle is one year, because the fourth and sixth stages are on the same side. The 6M model uses PTFE-filled rings, and the cycle is only one year. It has to be replaced because of the wear of the cylinder.
I just forgot to mention that when assembling the piston ring, you must check the side clearance of the piston ring and the settlement amount. If the side gap is too large, the piston ring will easily break. If the settlement amount is too large, it will not have a sealing effect. If the settlement amount is too small, the cylinder will be strained. This is very important!
The material has a greater impact. The other is lubricating oil and oil. Generally, the high-pressure section needs to be replaced as quickly as half a year to a year. Even if the low-pressure section is broken, it can still be used for a period of time until it can be repaired. The impact is not big.
