After being in use for a period of time, the outer surface of the furnace tubes in the newly built atmospheric pressure furnace develops peeling; the furnace temperature is around 750 degrees, the oxygen content is 2–3%, and the material used is Cr5Mo. I’d like to ask everyone what the reason is?

The least likely possibility is that the material and type of the furnace tubes do not match the design specifications, which in turn leads to peeling of the tubes and significantly reduces their service life
Another possibility is that the furnace temperature during operation becomes too high, far exceeding 750 degrees, resulting in oxidation and decarburization due to the high temperature. For example, the absence of a medium in the furnace tube causes it to exceed its limit temperature, leading to decarburization and peeling.
Before the new furnace is put into operation, it is necessary to check whether the casting residue left during the construction of the furnace tubes has been completely removed
