Our pumps are installed as complete units and then welded to the platform. After they are turned on, pipeline vibration occurs, especially in the smaller pipes; reinforcing those pipes doesn’t help either. Could experts advise on how to deal with this issue?
As a type of pump, the skid-mounted pump should be fine; the problem might lie in its use on platforms. Generally speaking, platforms have relatively poor rigidity, making it difficult to control vibrations caused by dynamic loads. Give it a try; connecting the platform to the rigid body as the main solution
The reason for excessive pump vibration may be an unstable platform or the pump not being level; strengthening the platform and leveling the pump using shims should resolve this issue.
Check the alignment between the bearing and the motor’s central shaft.

The welding area may cause slight deformation in that region, leading to changes in the alignment of the pump’s central shaft. Additionally, since the materials used for the assembly unit and the platform may differ, and if proper welding techniques are not followed, the quality of the welds will be poor.
I don’t know what type of pump the original poster has. Reciprocating metering pumps can cause vibration in the pipelines, as well as issues related to the layout and fixing method of those pipelines
Align it, and then check if there are any other equipment issues
Check whether the pump and motor are concentric; Increase the pump’s counterweight to reduce vibration amplitude.
Pumps installed as a complete unit will not have any alignment issues, unless there is a problem with them from the factory. There must still be problems with the installation and piping design! ! ! Under normal conditions, with a good pump properly installed, it won’t experience significant vibration even if it’s not secured. Check whether the lower base and platform are installed horizontally, and whether they meet the required inclination angle for the pump. Also, check the suction condition at the pump inlet. Poor feeding can also cause vibration.
Don’t just look for problems in the base; it could also be that there are too many bends in the pipes, resulting in excessive resistance. Also, check whether resonance is occurring due to the pump’s speed and flow rate
