What is the relationship between the gas composition at the converter outlet and the amount of steam added? Be more specific. Please give your advice

This issue needs to be considered comprehensively from the perspectives of chemical reaction equilibrium and reaction rate! Of course, the reaction equilibrium and rate determine the composition of the converted gas!
A high water-to-carbon ratio certainly results in a lower methane content in the output, and temperature also plays a role: a higher outlet temperature means a lower methane content as well. The conversion reaction is an endothermic reaction. It can be calculated. Please refer to the relevant materials for details.
A water-to-carbon ratio within a narrow range is the most appropriate; values that are too high or too low are not ideal. When the ratio is too high, the CO2 content in the gases exiting the conversion furnace increases, while the CO content becomes relatively lower. When it is too low, the potential amount of CH4 at the converter outlet increases, as observed in actual production (referring to methanol production from coke oven gas). Excessive steam can also affect the control of the converter temperature, potentially causing fluctuations in production. I would say our device’s value is roughly between 0.45 and 0.55
