Recently, a research team for the project \"Study on Independent Innovation and Industrial Development in China’s Controlled-Release Fertilizer Industry,\" which was formed by organizations such as the ren Da** Conference, the Central Policy Research Office, the State Council Research Office, the **Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Science and Technology, and the **Environmental Protection Administration, visited Linyi in Shandong Province to conduct in-depth investigations into issues faced in technological innovation within the controlled-release fertilizer industry and possible solutions, as well as the impact of relevant policies on the industrialization of this sector. Slow- and controlled-release fertilizers are those that utilize various mechanisms to release nutrients gradually, thereby extending the period during which crops can absorb and utilize these nutrients; they allow for a slow or controlled release of nutrients according to predetermined rates and timing. The promotion and application of slow- and controlled-release fertilizers are of great significance for reducing the loss of fertilizer nutrients, improving fertilizer utilization efficiency, achieving sustainable agricultural development, and building a resource-conserving and environment-friendly society. Through the innovation of its technological system, Shandong Jindongda Group has independently developed production technologies for slow- and controlled-release fertilizers that are at the world’s leading level, featuring independent intellectual property rights and own brand names. Significant breakthroughs have been achieved in key areas such as thermosetting resins, thermoplastic resins, sulfur and sulfur-based resins, as well as process and technology control, bringing these technologies to an international advanced level. Moreover, the production costs and market prices of these fertilizers are much lower than those of similar foreign products, and the group has established the largest production base for slow- and controlled-release fertilizers in Asia. “The research team for the project on \"Research on Independent Innovation and Industrial Development in China’s Controlled-Release Fertilizer Industry\" conducted an on-site visit to the controlled-release fertilizer production facility of Jinzhengda Group, and had in-depth discussions on the practical challenges faced by Jinzhengda Group in terms of technological innovation, product promotion, and corporate development. The research team highly praised Jinzhengda Group for accelerating the development of a technology innovation system that is driven by policies, centered around enterprises, market-oriented, and integrates industry, academia, and research. They unanimously agreed that the promotion and use of slow- and controlled-release fertilizers is a beneficial measure for both the country and its people, and it aligns with the goals of building a resource-conserving society. However, given the actual conditions of agriculture and farmers in our country, it is very difficult for companies alone to achieve widespread use of slow- and controlled-release fertilizers in agriculture; it is necessary to mobilize efforts from all sectors of society to participate and work together to promote this. To this end, the research team recommends that, first of all, **companies should be encouraged and supported to increase investment in technological research and development, promote the optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure, and expand production scales in order to reduce costs ; Secondly, **financial support should also be provided in areas such as finance, taxation, credit, and research, in order to boost the enthusiasm of research institutions for development, enterprises for promotion, and farmers for use.
