At present, the maximum capacity of domestic air separation units can reach 60,000 Nm3/h. Its supporting motors mainly rely on imports. If domestic motors can be used, the cost performance of the air separation units will be greatly increased.
It is very uneconomical to use a motor to drive the compressor in air separation.
personal opinion: 1. Small and medium-sized devices with an air separation oxygen production capacity below 10,000m3/h generally use motor-driven air compressors. 2. Large-scale air separation plants with an oxygen production capacity of more than 10,000m3/h generally use steam turbines to drive air compressors (now generally one steam turbine drives the air compressor and booster, that is, "one to two"). On the one hand, the total power of air compressors and boosters in large-scale air separation plants is often around 30MW, or 30,000kW. It is unimaginable to manufacture such a high-power motor, and the investment will be an astronomical figure. On the other hand, large-scale industrial turbines are very mature, and the domestic Hangzhou Steam Turbine Factory has considerable strength. 3.
