Everyone who is engaged in technology in the industry knows that the heat and mass transfer process of flue gas in the first-stage washing equipment of sulfuric acid purification is an adiabatic saturated cooling process, which has been introduced in manuals (such as "Sulfuric Acid"). The so-called adiabatic saturated cooling process means that the unsaturated high-temperature flue gas contacts the circulating acid in the first-stage washing equipment. The moisture in the circulating acid absorbs the sensible heat of the high-temperature flue gas and evaporates into the gas phase, while the temperature of the flue gas is reduced. The reason why the first-stage washing equipment can cool down without an acid cooler is that the sensible heat of the flue gas changes into the latent heat of water vapor, which requires the flue gas to be unsaturated. "Sulfuric Acid" also introduces that once the flue gas is saturated, the temperature of the flue gas cannot drop! However, production practice has produced different conclusions.: Our plant's sulfuric acid III system treats the smelting flue gas from the Ausmelt furnace. The moisture in the flue gas is saturated. A large amount of condensed water was released in the flue gas pipe some time ago (according to some judgment, the moisture in the flue gas is saturated). Today, it was discovered that the waste heat boiler of the Ausmelt furnace is leaking! However, the flue gas temperature can still be cooled in the first stage scrubber! Since the calculation is relatively cumbersome, requiring multiple trials and a large workload, we only use a few facts to make the judgment. Interested industry insiders can do the calculations. Comrades who are engaged in thermal engineering will know that high-pressure steam can be decompressed by spraying water (which is also a cooling process). I thought that the above process of our sulfuric acid system is similar to the decompression process of high-pressure steam spraying water! The judgment in the manual is wrong!
