What are the common usage differences between British and American English in the chemical industry?

British English and American English are the two most common varieties of English; there are subtle differences in expression/pronunciation and idiomatic usage. Please discuss what the common differences are in chemical process design
Since I’m not a professional in English, I wasn’t able to notice these differences! :Well, from my experience, British English and American English (as well as Australian English and so on) are mutually intelligible in the vast majority of situations; even if there are slight differences, they are understandable and do not pose any obstacles.
