Our factory currently has a methanol unit that uses a refinery hydrogenation and hydrogen production unit to provide synthesis gas, with a design capacity of 3wt/a. Due to the refinery expansion and transformation, it no longer provides feed gas, and the unit is facing shutdown. Currently, we are considering building a new syngas head using coal as raw material or switching to other chemical products (such as hydrogenation of crude benzene, etc.). The process of processing inert gas (N2+Ar+CH4%(V)5~25) must be considered in the gas purification process, otherwise the venting volume of this methanol unit will be very high, which will waste gas. Other equipment can meet the capacity of 30,000 tons/a.
Our plant also has a purge gas recovery system. The main problem now is which company’s coal gasification technology is more suitable for a 30,000 tons/year methanol plant, and whether the plant has the possibility of converting to produce other chemical products. I don’t know yet which process has this capability. You can consider the low-pressure coke oven gas process. Although it is the earliest coal gas production process in China, I think it is still more suitable for small-volume production units. However, there are two problems: 1. Currently* * The approval of this process is very strict, and it is difficult to obtain relevant licenses. 2 The biggest disadvantage of this process is that it wastes resources and is not very environmentally friendly. You can consider that environmental protection work must be done well, and the coal combustion is incomplete. The sales of its subsequent products should be considered in advance... In fact, for such a factory that can feed many people, I think it is good to make the necessary investment.
