May I ask what the sulfur content is in the crude product after coking desulfurization? Is desulfurization equipment needed after benzene, toluene, and xylene have been extracted from the crude product? At which stage is this desulfurization carried out, and what will be the sulfur content after desulfurization?
The sulfur content in crude benzene is generally between 4,000 and 6,000 PPm; this value varies depending on the type of coal used in coking plants, with levels sometimes exceeding 1%. Crude benzene needs to be desulfurized before separation, so that its carbon disulfide content is below 50 PPm and its thiophene content is below 400 PPm. Generally, preliminary distillation is carried out first to reduce the carbon disulfide level, followed by hydrogenation or acid treatment to lower the thiophene content.
