Compilation of technical documents for chemical plant production

I’ve been registered for some time now; today I came to this forum to download PROII. My points are too low to access version 7.1, and version 8.1 can’t be downloaded either – it’s frustrating… Just now I saw a post asking about the proper way to write instructions, so I’d like to share my experience here. Production technical documents for chemical plants, in accordance with the requirements of the ISO9000 series, should be divided into process procedures, safety procedures, and operating methods. Next, I will introduce the general contents of each document: 1. Process Specification: It mainly includes the following elements: an introduction to the facility (i.e., a preamble that covers when the facility was built, the technologies used, and its main functions); product description; technical specifications for raw materials; principles of production; description of the process flow; a list of process control conditions; a list of production control analyses; procedures for starting up and shutting down the facility; common abnormal phenomena that occur during production and their solutions; a table of interlock responses; a list of raw material consumption; a list of measures for handling waste; a list of major equipment; and information on process technological upgrades. Appendix: Process flow diagram (preferably a PFD). 2. Safety Regulations: Preamble; applicable standards; terms and definitions; brief description of production principles and processes; physical and chemical properties of major hazardous substances; emergency response plans (for earthquakes, lightning strikes, power outages, fires, explosions, etc.). These are the main contents; different companies may have additional regulations in accordance with specific standards, such as Sinopec, which has its own guidelines for drafting safety regulations. 3. Operating Procedures: Introduction, Job Tasks and Scope of Responsibility, Conditions Required Before Driving, Preparations Before Driving (to be described separately: driving under normal conditions, driving after an emergency stop, etc.; the details vary depending on the setup), Stopping (including temporary stops, normal stops, emergency stops, etc.), Inspection and Maintenance During Normal Operation, Key Process Parameters, Important Points for Operating the Equipment (rotating equipment, special equipment, etc.), Common Faults and Their Solutions, Safety Guidelines for Operating the Equipment.
