Hubei Sanning Chemical Co., Ltd.’s project to produce 1 million tons of dimethyl ether per year has recently been registered with the Hubei Provincial Development and Reform Commission. The total investment for the project is 765 million yuan, and at present, preparations for the project’s feasibility study and environmental impact assessment are underway. Using coal or natural gas as raw materials, and producing dimethyl ether through a combination of independently developed technologies and those imported, in order to establish clean energy bases and reduce environmental pollution, represents a new approach to comprehensively addressing energy issues.
