There are several key aspects to lubricant regeneration: first, dehydration; second, removal of impurities; third, addition of necessary functional agents. Generally, acid-base clay refining and filtration processes are employed.
In my opinion, the methods for recycling lubricants that suit China’s national conditions are pickling and clay refining; other solvent-based refining methods are not suitable for small enterprises due to their high costs, and there is a risk of losses. Hydrogenation recycling is only appropriate for well-funded state-owned enterprises. This is just my personal opinion
Our workshop has developed its own lubricant regeneration system: steam is used to heat the lubricant, causing the gases and moisture to evaporate; after that, the mixture is allowed to settle, and the pure lubricant is separated out while the sediment is discarded
