I would like to ask everyone: what is the maximum steam pressure that can be achieved when a 35t boiler is paired with a turbine for power generation? Both back-pressure and extraction types are acceptable.
A 35t boiler is likely equipped with a 6M watt turbine generator set! I have worked on a 6M watt turbine generator set; the steam pressure after power generation by the turbine is 0.008MPa
0.008? That means there’s no pressure anymore; I’ve seen it, hehe
This pressure of 0.008 MPa is absolute pressure; the turbine in question is a condensing turbine, with a vacuum inside the condenser
It’s exhaust-type; no wonder it’s so low
In the case of low-power steam turbines, a portion of the steam can be extracted for other purposes. Generally, the pressure of the steam is only 3 to 5 kilograms; it depends on what it is to be used for. If the extraction pressure is high and the amount of steam extracted is large, the turbine’s ability to generate power will be reduced. If your boiler generates steam at a relatively high pressure, for example 10 MPa, it is possible to extract steam at 5 MPa. In the case of backpressure, naturally the lower the pressure, the better; it is usually kept around 0.35 MPa (absolute pressure). Condensing types have the highest efficiency.
