1 Project Overview: The molecular formula of ferric poly sulfate is M; it is a widely used inorganic flocculant. It is suitable for the clarification and purification of raw water used in various industrial and domestic applications, as well as for the treatment of industrial wastewater from sectors such as electricity generation, coal mining, petroleum, chemicals, steel manufacturing, non-ferrous metal mining, and mineral processing. The purified water can be reused and utilized in various ways. This project was listed as the **Best Practical Technology for Environmental Protection** for the 1997–2001 period. 2 Technical Features: This technology utilizes a closed-reactor system to carry out the production process through a one-step procedure of catalytic oxidation with pure oxygen, hydrolysis, and polymerization, under conditions of low temperature and near-normal pressure. There are no ‘three wastes’ during the production process, and the product quality is stable. 3 Product quality specifications: Appearance – Red-brown liquid; Fe2+ content % ≤0.10; Specific gravity (20°C) ≥1.45; Alkalinity % 9.0–14.0; Total iron content % 11.0; pH (1% aqueous solution) 2.0–3.0. 4 Main raw materials: Ferrous sulfate (FeSO4·7H2O), oxygen, catalyst, sulfuric acid. 5 Main equipment: Polymerization reactor, enamel-coated reactor, storage tank at a higher level, finished product storage tank, other auxiliary equipment.
