These are two different types of software: one is specifically used for process simulation, while the other is a simple simulation based on a DCS system; this was something I learned from communicating with people at Eerson.
It seems that, compared to HYSYS, the deltaV simulation merely involves selecting and configuring existing control schemes; the simulation results serve as a feedback based on the actual DCS data. There is no need to delve deeply into the selection of control parameters, the impact of various control schemes, or to have an in-depth understanding of the equipment models themselves. But it is my feeling that those in contact are required to have a certain level of understanding of the DCS system. I wonder what everyone thinks about it
Your understanding is correct; Eerson is itself a DCS manufacturer and does not have a significant advantage in terms of chemical processing. This type of simulation is based on control, whereas HYSYS is a pure software system based on chemical process technology and process control.
