Currently, the pipes in our company often burst in areas where thickness measurement is not possible, and many steam pipes are leaking. Please help us – how can we carry out effective maintenance to prevent pipe leaks? The measure we are taking now is to perform ultrasonic thickness testing at the elbow area
This is considered a temporary solution rather than a permanent one; the root cause lies in problems with the steam system inside the pipes, and it is necessary to address that issue. Under normal circumstances, there should not be such a high number of pipe ruptures.
What was said on the second floor seems a bit exaggerated; I’ve checked the pH level of the water in the boiler these past few days, and it’s only between 3 and 4
But I think if acidity only causes uniform corrosion of the pipes, it won’t lead to pitting; currently there are many spots where leaks occur, whether in the welds, the straight sections of the pipe, or the elbows
