Diaphragms that serve a separating function are generally referred to as diaphragm-type, such as diaphragm pressure gauges. Diaphragms generally refer to the elastic components in pneumatic elements.
The diaphragm has a smaller pressure range than a separator, and can measure up to a few kPa.
In all cases, diaphragms are used to isolate the medium being measured; it seems that those with diaphragms use flange connections, while those without diaphragms use threaded connections

Both diaphragm pressure gauges and diaphragm-type pressure meters transmit pressure through a separating diaphragm; however, diaphragm pressure gauges use a fluid as the medium for transmission, which is why they cannot measure very low pressures. In contrast, diaphragm pressure meters can measure very low pressures thanks to a mechanical amplification mechanism. Moreover, diaphragm pressure gauges can be disassembled, but diaphragm-type pressure gauges cannot.
It’s just the difference in structure. Select based on operating conditions.
Diaphragm pressure gauges generally consist of a regular spring tube pressure gauge or an shock-resistant pressure gauge, along with a diaphragm and a sealing fluid. The materials used for the diaphragm include stainless steel and Hastelloy; it serves to separate the medium from the pressure gauge’s moving parts. Such gauges are primarily used for measuring the pressure of media that are corrosive, prone to crystallization, viscous, or contain many impurities. A diaphragm pressure gauge uses a diaphragm as the element for sensing pressure and transmitting signals; it is capable of detecting minor changes in pressure, and is generally used in applications involving low pressures or small pressure variations.
