I have a product whose material solidifies at 90 degrees; pipes, pumps, and valves get clogged very easily, especially in winter. Do anyone have any experience in this area?
A jacketed tube is recommended; since the solidification temperature of your material is relatively high, it is likely that hot water would require a temperature close to the boiling point. Therefore, steam heating should be considered.
I have a distillation system that solidifies at 110 degrees; it features full jacket heating, and pressurized water is used for heat retention and cooling (the material in my system is thermosensitive). There must be no dead corners in any pipelines, and valves, elbows, tees, and flanges must be equipped with jackets. Additionally, there must be a reasonable and effective set of operating procedures. Ensure the equipment is stopped and the materials are clean.
That’s true; our company also uses this method, and it works quite well
How can insulation be achieved around a pump? It’s not possible to install a jacket at the pipe connections of the equipment, and even if flexible connectors are used, it’s still difficult to provide insulation through them.

This friend isn’t very familiar with pumps, is he? Are there dedicated jacketed pumps? Contact the pump manufacturer; they will tell you how to select the right model. It is fine if there is no jacket at a specific location on the equipment’s outlet; as long as the equipment itself and the main pipeline have jackets, that is sufficient. Metals are all good conductors of heat. Flexible connections can be equipped with electric heating. None of these are problems.
