I would like to ask the experts: How should the dehydration of gaseous chloromethane be handled in terms of process? ? :)
Should we use chloromethane, the kind that is produced as a by-product? Please clarify your question.
The chloromethane produced during the reaction process is intended to be recovered and sold.
What about using molecular sieves for dehydration? My personal suggestion is…
Using a sulfuric acid absorption tower with a cover in the upper section and packing in the lower section seems to be a quite mature technology already
First, wash it with a water scrubber, then dry it with concentrated sulfuric acid using several sections of packing in a dryer, or use a combined dryer with concentrated sulfuric acid.

If it is to be sold as a by-product, water can be separated using a packed distillation column before pressurization and cryogenic liquefaction; the pressure should be 0.8 MPa, and detailed design calculations are required. I’m not entirely sure either; I’m waiting to see what happens. I don’t think filler is suitable for gases. A guy upstairs said to use concentrated sulfuric acid – I’ve heard of that for the first time. Interesting; maybe it really is a good solution
