Sinopec’s gasification equipment demonstrates outstanding innovation capabilities. News came from a recent technical meeting on Sinopec’s gasification units: as the Hubei Fertilizer Branch successfully resolved the problem of frequent damage to the startup burners, the startup burner nozzles developed in collaboration with research institutions have proven to be highly effective. Domestic competitors as well as some foreign companies are now considering ordering these burner nozzles as well. ·2007 – Starting up the burner for ignition is an essential step in the commissioning process of a gasification unit. Therefore, the inability of the startup burner to ignite properly is a common problem that hinders the commissioning of gasification units. Hubei Fertilizer has gained experience through practice, effectively addressing issues related to processes and control, with the burners being put into operation normally as many as 18 times. 　　This technical exchange meeting is the second one following Sinopec’s first technical seminar on gasification units held in Beijing in September. Enterprises such as Anqing Petrochemical and Hubei Fertilizer, as well as departments of Sinopec including the Engineering Department, the Science and Technology Development Department, and the Chemical Industry Department, attended the meeting. 　　Through joint research efforts, the coal chemical enterprises of Sinopec have absorbed and integrated imported technologies, as well as developed independent innovations in production practices, owning at least 100 proprietary technologies. Taking Hubei Fertilizer as an example, there are over 1,000 various improvement projects; through continuous efforts and extensive work to address issues and make corrections, good results have been achieved. Especially in October, the maximum daily production of synthetic ammonia reached 1,121 tons, exceeding the highest daily production level before the renovation ； The maximum daily urea production reached 1,782 tons, approaching the record for the urea plant’s highest daily output, and profit was achieved on both sides for the first time. Other coal-to-oil companies have also made significant breakthroughs in technological research.
