A project involves 6 280KW motors as well as other low-power motors. Let’s discuss whether it is better to use high-voltage or low-voltage starting methods, along with their advantages and disadvantages: Option 1 is to use high-voltage motors for the 6 large motors, employing 10KV high-voltage starting; Option two is to use low-voltage starting for all motors, with soft starters to reduce the voltage during startup. Check the capacity of the transformer in the plant; if it is large, a low-voltage soft start is used, while if the capacity is smaller, a high-voltage start is employed.
From a practical standpoint, low-pressure operations and maintenance are simpler.

From an economic usage perspective, high pressure is more economical. However, the initial investment is high. Low voltage, excessive current, and low stability over long-term use compared to high voltage.
If there are only two options and one must be chosen, it is recommended to go with Option 1. The first reason is that the investment required for Option 2 is substantial, and the second reason is to leave room for future expansion.
