I plan to write a paper on pipeline pressure testing in the near future, but everything I’ve encountered relates to quite common scenarios. Perhaps it’s because I’m not good at identifying problems; the experiences I’ve accumulated have already been covered in other articles. I feel that there’s something unique that belongs to me yet, and I would appreciate it if experts could suggest some special perspectives from which I might approach this topic. Thank you. By the way, I have another question: it relates to pressure testing in winter in the north. In winter there, temperatures can drop below -20 degrees Celsius. My suggestion: The methods for pipeline pressure testing are well-known, so there’s no need to delve into them in detail. The key is to start with some special cases and write down some personal, experiential insights.
However, individual unique experiences are hard to detect, and everyone already knows the basic situations. . Can anyone give some advice?
From the projects I have been involved in, the owner and supervisor require that pressure testing be completely halted when the temperature is below 0 degrees. If pressure testing is to proceed, efforts should be made to implement appropriate protective measures.
