HYSYS does not seem to have its own adsorption tower module. It is said that it needs to embed its own defined adsorption module through secondary development. Wouldn't that be very troublesome?
The original poster's question is quite challenging. If possible, please send it here and I will help you see if it is possible. According to my experience, it seems possible!
Do you want to try setting up the mass conservation module? After feeding, the materials are divided into two, one goes out and the other is adsorbed and separated.
Use HYSYS to perform pressure swing adsorption calculations. You can use a component splitter to perform simple calculations. The calculation error of experts is about 20%!
Strictly speaking, pressure swing adsorption is not suitable for simulation in HYSYS. The reasons are as follows. In most cases, pressure swing adsorption is based on physical adsorption and belongs to the category of molecular sieves. There is no strict mechanism to calculate in HYSYS, including the use of component Splitter. When you use this module, you only divide one stream into two streams according to your definition. If you want to do it, you will definitely need secondary development. If you can really develop something like this, it will definitely have a market than the amine package. If your thing is easy to use, you will make a fortune.: )
Such a thing needs to be supported by a lot of experiments. The amine package actually sells a set of binary interaction parameters, but without a lot of experiments as a basis, no one will believe your calculation results.
It needs secondary development. If there are examples, there are masters in Dalian University of Technology (Research on HYSYS Simulation System of Gas Membrane Separation Process - Master's Thesis of "Dalian University of Technology" in 2006). You can refer to the students of Teacher He Gaohong.
