I have a suggestion, though I’m not sure if it’s appropriate, as it might increase the workload for moderators and other administrators. Could we prepare a summary each month of the work performance of the team members, engineers, etc., including metrics such as P-values and ratings for quality, and post it in a dedicated thread? This would allow us to compare our own performance with that of others; those who are doing well can continue as they are, while those who are performing poorly need to work harder. I think my work performance is decent every month, but that’s just my opinion; there’s no way to verify it.
The administrator said they would create one; the technical team members will post relevant messages to set up permissions, so only those who meet the specified requirements can access it! That’s great!
In the past, I would give a brief comment when I received my salary, but without specific figures; it’s better to provide quantitative details; Also, congratulations to the person who posted above on getting officially approved: handshake.
This suggestion is good; it prevents many technicians from working blindly without knowing the efficiency level ! This helps to enhance employees’ sense of competition, and it is highly advisable
The suggestion is good, but it increases the workload of the moderators. It also leads to competition, as people visit the forum just to meet certain P-value requirements, which undermines its practical purpose. Moreover, the members of the technical team may not have that much free time. A low P-value does not necessarily mean less contribution to the forum, and P-values cannot accurately reflect the degree of contribution to the forum. It is better not to include such a requirement. Is it possible to set up a feature on the forum that allows one to view their own P-values, so they can check them at any time!
Ah Chuan’s suggestion is indeed good; it can be implemented by adding a plugin. Please let the website administrator handle this himself
The original poster has a very good starting point, but I would like to offer a few thoughts on the work of managing a team: 1. A forum is a virtual space; although there are many rules and regulations, those who join a management team do so out of interest, passion, and a sense of responsibility. Everyone has their own jobs, and for various reasons, there are always times when they cannot fully focus on the forum. It isn’t very reasonable to use something similar to a performance evaluation system used in actual work to determine whether people are competent or not. Relatively speaking, forums should still maintain a relaxed atmosphere ; 2. In terms of operability, the technical team is mainly composed of the headquarters staff and super-visors from various regions who are responsible for management; it is extremely difficult to manually count the number of posts, replies, ratings, etc. submitted by hundreds of people on a daily basis (as there is no way to perform automatic aggregation). When we post the salary payment announcements each month, we can only roughly assess the work done by the poster that month, determine whether it was good or not, and then award the corresponding salary. If there really were a monthly summary sheet, I guess not many people would look at it; it wouldn’t be of any use. 3. As for the work of moderators and team members, administrators and super moderators still have a general idea of who is proactive and who performs management tasks more frequently; such information is recorded. It is that passion that brings people together; trying to restrict it with quantitative data might have the opposite effect. 4. As everyone has mentioned, using forum plugins for self-evaluation seems to me to be the most suitable approach. By setting some basic parameters, it’s possible to check each person’s immediate P value; by referring to the requirements set forth in the forum, one can motivate themselves. If you feel you didn’t work enough in a given month, just work harder in the future. When I was in charge of management at Forum 56, I would rate my own performance on a monthly basis, and then go to the administrator to receive the salary corresponding to that rating. If it doesn’t meet the standards, people usually refrain from picking it up.
I think the team members in the technical department are the ones who deserve the most attention. I’m not aware of the process for recruiting people for this role, but I’m well aware that there are many people in this group who are just filling seats!
The post from upstairs, posted. It seems not many people have replied as technicians! Is it to avoid suspicion? People with extremely high self-esteem just don’t bother to pay attention. People with high standards think it’s none of their business. People of average ability think I am competent. People of average ability tend to believe rumors. Let me share some of my personal thoughts! Even my reply was the same – no one responded. But I have to say it; please be patient. I’ve visited the super version of BHT11’s personal space, and one of the articles there, titled “20 Years of Experience as a Mechanical Technology Administrator,” is worth reading by everyone who works in technical fields or has transitioned to management roles! It is worth deep reflection by all those who study technology, those who have taken detours, those who are determined to learn technology from scratch, and those who, having mastered the skills, wish to move on to management! The forum now emphasizes development in a specialized direction, so it needs a large number of professionals to bring their experience, knowledge, wisdom, and resources! And many people also come to Haichuan for this very reason! So everyone wants to recharge and improve themselves; the forum aims to strengthen its team of technical experts, and it would be ideal to have some influential figures around – ones who can give orders that are promptly followed, and lead the team effectively! This inevitably involves management issues! Because the people who are attracted come from a wide variety of backgrounds. In our country, there is an increasing amount of information related to professional titles such as those for engineers; as a result, these titles can no longer truly reflect a person’s competence. In my opinion, on forums, many people possess experience, knowledge, expertise, or proficiency in certain areas; those who truly have what is described in \"20 Years of Experience as a Mechanical Technology Administrator\" are not that many. Regarding the management of these people, I think a passage in the article is quite apt: Everyone has their weaknesses, but many such weaknesses can come together to form a large basin capable of holding a lot of water. The sea embraces all rivers; it has taken me in. Though it may not be said, we too can contribute our modest share to the seas and rivers. The development of a forum, as well as an individual’s choices, depend on whether they align with the individual’s career goals and meet the demands of the market. If those conditions are met and you are motivated to do this, then consider this place as a gas station, a stepping stone – once you’ve gained more experience, there will be more and better opportunities waiting for you. I’ve asked several people about how to receive my salary, and I’ve also sent PMs to lengyue, but no one has told me how to get it. I can’t find any relevant posts in the management section either; for example, there’s no post regarding the January salary. It’s not really for that meager salary; I’m just puzzled as to why there’s no place where one can get it. Many people have raised this issue, but it doesn’t seem to have been properly resolved at all
As is customary, at the beginning of each month, the super moderators of each district post a special thread in the management team’s office for salary payments; the moderators and team members can reply to this thread, and the super moderators assign salaries of different levels based on everyone’s performance. Team members need to report to the super editors of each partition (the super editors may not respond to every report; they simply keep a statistical record). There is a time limit for replying to the salary post in order to claim one’s salary; generally, this validity period is about a week. Once that time expires, the post is closed and disappears, which is why people can’t see it right now. Additionally: Due to the New Year holiday, the January salary, which was supposed to be paid at the beginning of February, has been combined with the salary for the following month.
