Cement pavement maintenance process: (What are the steps, and what is the purpose of continuous watering?)
After the concrete has been poured, effective curing measures should be taken in a timely manner in accordance with the construction plan, and the following requirements shall be met: 1. After pouring, the concrete should be covered within 12 hours and kept moist through watering. 2. Duration of concrete curing by watering: For concrete made with portland cement, ordinary portland cement, or slag portland cement, this period shall not be less than 7 days ; For concrete containing retarding admixtures or having impermeability requirements, it shall be no less than 14 days ; 3. The frequency of watering should ensure that the concrete remains sufficiently moist ; The water used for concrete curing should be the same as that used for mixing ; 4. The concrete that is being cured with plastic sheeting must have all of its exposed surfaces properly covered, and condensation water inside the plastic sheeting should be retained ; 5. Before the concrete strength reaches 1.2 Mpa, it must not be stepped on, nor shall formwork or scaffolding be installed on it. Note: 1) Watering is not allowed when the average daily temperature is below 5°C ; 2) When other types of cement are used, the curing time for the concrete should be determined based on the technical properties of that cement. 3) When it is inconvenient to water the concrete surface or to use plastic sheeting, it is advisable to apply a curing agent ; 4) For the curing of mass concrete, temperature control measures should be taken in accordance with the climate conditions and the construction technical plan.
