How to choose the length of the connecting fittings when installing a butterfly valve in a pipeline? Thank you for your advice

The length of fasteners (double-headed studs or bolts) can be determined through calculation. For the specific calculation method, please refer to Appendix A of HG20613-97. This value is related to the flange thickness (associated with the design pressure class), the flange type (type of sealing surface), the gasket thickness, and so on. For wafer-type butterfly valves, the length of the butterfly valve itself also needs to be taken into consideration. For non-butterfly valves with flanges, it is usually possible to take it easy – one can simply refer to HG20613-97 and select the appropriate values based on the design pressure and flange type.

If it refers only to fasteners, the answers given by the people above are all good; what’s important is to determine the type of butterfly valve you have: wafer-type or non-wafer-type. However, this is also related to the supply provided by the owner. For our last project, as is usual, we chose non-butterfly-type butterfly valves, but what arrived at the client’s site were butterfly valves of the butterfly type! It’s really frustrating! Hehe... I suggest the original poster provide more details about the question, specifically which aspect is meant! :)
Special attention should be paid when installing wafer butterfly valves in plastic pipes; for the same diameter, such valves are prone to getting stuck and failing to open.
