HYSYS is a software that combines dynamic and steady-state analysis. For chemical plants, and especially refineries, dynamic simulation is the main approach. So it is still necessary to understand the control strategy; otherwise, the simulation cannot be carried out properly, the model cannot be built correctly, and it may not even be possible to achieve effective control. For DCS system configuration, it’s sufficient to have a basic understanding; there’s no need to go into too much detail.
